I recently graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a Bachelor of Science in Journalism with a focus on Humanities, Communication, and Literature. My outside-of-class work focuses on film production and development. I am very excited to continue that work and showcase my creativity, organization, and attention to detail.

I've been honored to receive several opportunities this semester to represent longstanding institutions through experiences such as the Homecoming Court for UIUC, the Roger Ebert Fellowship, and an internship at Shatterglass Studios.

My time with the Roger Ebert Fellowship spans the Midwest, with my fellow interns and Michael Phillips, a Chicago Tribune Film Critic. I learned much about film criticism from Michael's extensive knowledge and grew my writing skills. We had a Chicago outing to watch a pre-screening of 'Bob Marley: One Love' with several film critics, lunch with Chaz Ebert, and meet a previous Ebert Fellow who works for the Public News WTTW, Chicago's PBS station. We were fortunate enough to attend two Film Festivals and cover them. The first was the True False Film Festival in Columbia, Missouri. I talked with several talented female filmmakers, an abundance of volunteers, and so many lovely filmgoers in line for films. The other is the Ebertfest hosted in Champaign, Illinois. I got to talk with several industry professionals in various roles in the media space and watch an amazing and diverse set of films.

Through my internship at Shatterglass Studios, I've gotten the opportunity to assist staff in office duties and on-site production needs. I also researched and presented an inventory management software with integration to an e-commerce platform the company already utilized. Alongside part-owner Luke Boyce, I tested the software for implementation.

I look forward to continuing my professional development and continuing to connect with the community. I hope to inspire young girls to follow their dreams, go into the media industry, and continue to tell diverse stories.
